Anyway, late last night I was sitting on the couch playing on my computer when my feet started bothering me really bad. Another little goody that type2 likes play on besides your blood sugar. Oh the pain was so bad at the tips of my toes on my left foot it made me holler a few times, or whimper as it was about 3am. My kitty likes to lay across my left leg and under my arm and snuggle up against me. He will look up at my face with such loving eyes (like a child would do when you read them a book.) it will just melt your soul. And he does this most of the time while I am not looking back at him. But you can feel the staring and you have to glance down every now and then. lol I talk to him as you would a baby and I do spoil him rotten too!
He noticed my facial expression every time I had pain. And I was talking to him telling him Mom is OK and about the pain I was feeling. So every time I winced or groaned he started to look at my face and then at my feet, paying close attention to my left one. It makes your toes feel as if they are frozen or on the verge of frost bite. Very cold and hot at the same time with dull aching pain. If it were a color it would be gray with Dead lifeless dark numb overtones! You get my drift, I hope!
I mentioned to him that I wish he would go and lay on my feet and get them warm to help ease the pain. And do you know the next time I whimpered he hopped down and did just that! He circled my bedroom shoes and my left foot was resting on top of my shoe and he laid his belly on my toes and foot and rested head on my other shoe until my pain stopped. And then when I was relaxed and calm and no longer making those weird faces he got up and rubbed against my legs kissed my foot and hopped back into my lap! I was amazed that he understood what I needed from him and he comforted me when I needed help. So you see they do care and do understand what you say to them. They listen! I love my little guy so much! He is my heart!
And to think someone threw him away in a dumpster! Brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it! The condition he was in was heartbreaking. He was so starved he looked like a kitten. And his ears were so packed with mites that he was deaf and I cleaned them out and used over 20 Q-tips both ends. But he could hear and you never saw a happier kitty in your life when he heard the sounds of our voices. I will look through my Pics and see if I can find his first few weeks with us so you can see the transformation.
